CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Convention Center Authority has announced the appointment of new board member, Alfred Degrafinreid II, who was appointed by Mayor John Cooper and confirmed by the Metro Council.

 

Degrafinreid is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Local Government and Community Relations within Vanderbilt University.

 

“We are delighted to welcome Alfred to the board,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of Music City Center. “He brings a tremendous amount of skill, expertise and knowledge within public administration and community relations at local, state and federal levels, which complement our goals in being a strong city and community partner.”

 

In addition, Music City Center continues to partner with the Metro Health Department and serve as a mass vaccination site for Davidson County residents who have scheduled appointments.

 

About the Music City Center

The Music City Center, Nashville’s convention center, features a 353,143 square foot exhibit hall, the 57,500 square foot Karl F. Dean Grand Ballroom, and an 18,000 square foot Davidson Ballroom. The building includes an art collection featuring local and regional artists, a covered three-level parking garage with 1,800 spaces, and is LEED Gold certified. The Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame is also located inside the Music City Center at the corner of 6th Avenue and Demonbreun.
