Parking Customer Service Representative
[ Full Time ]

Position will be responsible for responding to radio calls associated with customer service opportunities, maintaining parking equipment and ensuring proper signage placement and parking rates, overseeing contracted parking staff and revenue during special events, responding to equipment malfunctions, maintaining the garage by performing daily mopping/sweeping/trash removal, overall garage cleanliness and patrolling to ensure that parking zones are enforced and to provide security presence. 

High School diploma is preferred with some prior knowledge of the operation of large scale Scrubber/Sweeper or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.  Knowledge of Amano-McGann access and control equipment and software a plus. 
Starting Rate:  $14.00/hour

This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.  Excellent benefits included.  Valid Tennessee Driver’s License required.  Flexible work schedules and will include weekends, holidays, and night work.   Position will require long periods of standing and walking.

Housekeeping

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all public and back of house areas including offices, public space, terraces, building exterior perimeter, which includes sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash containers, etc.  Must be able to work without direct supervision and act as lead in the absence of supervisor.  Must be familiar with housekeeping equipment including floor buffers and carpet cleaners. 

High School Diploma or GED preferred with 6 months to 1 year of experience in cleaning commercial buildings or any combination of education and experience meeting these requirements. 

This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.   Starting Salary $11.75/hr with excellent benefits.  Position must be available to work all shifts and for weekend work as well.

Set Up Staff

Responsibilities include:  set-up/dismantling of convention space; general maintenance labor in connection to building maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash containers, etc. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage areas to meeting rooms. Ability to understand conversion task, project sheets and event documents on a daily basis to ensure that all requirements are clear and the expectation of the set up is understood before work begins. Assist in direction of temporary labor and able to work independently when needed. Able to work irregular hours to include overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

High School Diploma or GED preferred plus one (1) to three (3) years of semi-skilled laboring experience is required.  Knowledge of the techniques and procedures used in setting public events; ability to operate motorized equipment, such as a forklift; and ability to analyze set-up plans and make modifications. 

Valid Tennessee Driver’s License required.  Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends required.  This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position. Salary:  $13.00/hour.  Excellent Benefits included.

Sales Assistant

Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, this position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Sales & Marketing division.  Responsibilities will include preparing & assisting in all event contracts including working directly with Contract Administrator, providing administrative assistance to the Sales Managers and Vice President of Sales and Marketing on a daily basis, maintaining all Sales division reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, & annually) as required, providing all reporting and maintaining data from Concentrics (booking  & sales management software), maintaining all sales and events files in the Sales Department and other administrative duties as required. 

High School Diploma or GED preferred with the three to five years of experience with proficiency in Microsoft Word, strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint or any combination of equivalent education and experience.  Experience in Hospitality preferred.  
 
This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.  Starting salary $16.00/hour.  Excellent benefits included.  Valid Tennessee Driver’s License required.  Position may require work after hours and weekend work as required.
